Terms of Service
Helicopter Checkride Prep
Effective date: October 30, 2026
These Terms of Service govern access to helicoptercheckrideprep.com and its membership, lesson plans, flashcards, infographics, practice materials, and other educational resources (the “Service”). The Service is owned and operated under the name helicoptercheckrideprep.com, also known as Helicopter Checkride Prep (“HCRP,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
1 Acceptance and eligibility
By accessing or using helicoptercheckrideprep.com or the Service after being provided clear notice of these Terms and an opportunity to review them, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use the website or the Service. These Terms apply to visitors as well as registered members. Accessing or using the website does not enroll you in a paid membership or authorize a charge. A paid subscription and recurring billing require your separate express consent at checkout as described in Section 5.
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a contract to purchase a membership. A student age 13 through 17 may use the Service only when a parent or legal guardian accepts these Terms and purchases and supervises the membership on the student’s behalf. The parent or guardian is responsible for payment and compliance with these Terms. The Service is not intended for children under 13.
2 Educational purpose and aviation limitations
HCRP provides supplemental study resources for helicopter knowledge and checkride preparation. The Service does not provide flight instruction, aircraft-specific operational approval, flight planning services, real-time weather or navigation information, or authorization to operate an aircraft.
Studying or completing HCRP materials does not by itself satisfy required ground or flight training, constitute a logbook endorsement, authorize a knowledge or practical test, or establish eligibility, currency, proficiency, or fitness to fly. Any required training, endorsements, and eligibility determinations must be obtained separately from appropriately authorized persons.
Aviation involves substantial risk. Never use an HCRP diagram, mnemonic, flashcard, lesson, or example as an operational checklist or emergency procedure. Consult a qualified flight instructor and the current regulations, applicable FAA guidance, approved Rotorcraft Flight Manual or Pilot’s Operating Handbook, supplements, limitations, checklists, and other authoritative information for your aircraft and operation. Aircraft-specific limitations and procedures may differ from our examples. The pilot in command retains responsibility for the operation of the aircraft.
3 ACS references and examination results
References to the FAA Airman Certification Standards (ACS), FAA handbooks, regulations, or manufacturer materials identify study topics and source material. They do not mean that HCRP is approved, certified, sponsored, or endorsed by the FAA, an aircraft manufacturer, or a designated pilot examiner.
Our explanations and diagrams may simplify technical concepts. Source citations help you locate supporting information; they do not guarantee that a summary is complete or reflects every later revision. Verify current requirements with official sources. If our materials conflict with current applicable regulations or approved aircraft information, use the authoritative requirements and tell us about the discrepancy.
We do not guarantee a passing score, a successful oral examination or checkride, a certificate or rating, or any particular result. Practice questions are study aids and are not represented as actual or complete FAA examination questions. Your preparation, instruction, experience, and performance affect your results.
4 Accounts and individual access
Provide accurate account and billing information, keep it current, and protect your login credentials. Each membership is for one designated student. A parent or guardian may administer that student’s account, but may not use one membership to provide study access to multiple people.
Do not share credentials, sell or transfer access, or allow a school, instructor, class, or group to use one individual membership. Contact us for separate written permission before using paid materials for group instruction. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize and for reasonably safeguarding your account.
5 Subscription price and automatic renewal
The monthly membership price is the amount displayed and accepted at checkout, plus any applicable taxes. The checkout identifies the currency, price, billing interval, included content, and any promotional conditions that apply to your purchase. Changes to your recurring price are subject to the notice and consent provisions below.
YOUR MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION AUTOMATICALLY RENEWS EACH MONTH UNTIL YOU CANCEL. By expressly agreeing to recurring billing at checkout, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method at purchase and on each renewal date for the disclosed recurring amount and applicable taxes.
Keep a valid payment method on file. If a payment fails, access may be suspended until payment is resolved. Any permitted payment retries will relate to the unpaid charge; they do not create a new subscription or extend your billing authorization beyond cancellation.
We will notify you by email at least 30 days before a subscription price increase takes effect, or earlier if required by law, and obtain any consent required by law. An increase will not change a billing period already paid for. You may cancel before the new price applies.
6 Cancellation and access after cancellation
You may cancel automatic renewal at any time through the subscription management controls in your website account. If those controls are unavailable or you need help, email helicoptercheckrideprep@gmail.com from the email address associated with your membership.
Cancel before your next scheduled renewal to avoid the next charge. Cancellation stops future renewals and ordinarily leaves access available through the end of the period already paid for. We will provide a cancellation confirmation. If you do not receive it, contact us so we can check your account.
If you request cancellation by email, we will use the time we receive the request to determine whether it preceded renewal. If we charge a renewal after receiving a timely cancellation request, we will refund that charge. A failure in our cancellation controls will not prevent you from cancelling by email.
Simply stopping use of the Service or signing out does not cancel recurring billing. Do not rely on deleting an account to cancel; use the cancellation controls or contact us. Your cancellation rights required by applicable law remain in effect.
7 Refunds and billing concerns
Except where required by law or expressly provided in these Terms or your checkout offer, subscription payments are nonrefundable. We do not ordinarily provide partial refunds for unused days, inactivity, or cancellation during a paid billing period.
This policy does not prevent correction of duplicate, erroneous, or unauthorized charges, refunds for a renewal charged after a timely cancellation, or a remedy required by consumer law. Contact helicoptercheckrideprep@gmail.com with billing concerns. Nothing in these Terms restricts a lawful right to dispute a charge with your payment provider.
If we permanently discontinue your paid Service or end your paid access for a reason other than your material breach, we will refund the unused portion of your prepaid period. Any more favorable refund promise made in your checkout offer will be honored.
8 Permission to use materials
During your authorized access period, we grant you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable license to view the materials included in your membership for your own study. Public samples may be viewed for personal evaluation of the Service.
Unless a particular resource expressly permits downloading or printing, paid content is provided for viewing through the Service. Where we permit downloading or printing, that permission is for personal study only and does not allow sharing or republication. Ordinary temporary browser caching is allowed.
Except as permitted by applicable law or our written authorization, you may not copy, screenshot, record, reproduce, distribute, upload, publish, resell, sublicense, or publicly display our protected paid materials. Do not post them to social media, shared drives, messaging groups, question banks, or other websites, or use them to build a competing course or product. Do not remove copyright notices, watermarks, source credits, or access restrictions.
9 Intellectual property and third party sources
HCRP or its licensors retain rights in the Service’s protected original text, artwork, lesson organization, designs, branding, and other materials. Purchasing access does not transfer ownership or grant permission to use HCRP branding.
We do not claim exclusive ownership of public-domain FAA publications, government works that are not protected by U.S. copyright, aviation facts, or third-party materials. Third-party trademarks and protected works belong to their respective owners. Our restrictions apply to our protected contributions and paid Service access; they do not remove rights you independently have in public-domain material or under applicable law. You may obtain official source documents directly from their publishers.
10 Prohibited conduct
Do not bypass a paywall or other security measure, access another person’s account without permission, introduce malicious code, disrupt the Service, impersonate another person, or use the Service unlawfully.
Except where applicable law gives you a right that cannot be restricted, do not use automated scraping, bulk extraction, or other automated methods to copy protected materials or restricted data. Do not use our protected materials to train an artificial intelligence model or build a dataset without our written permission.
11 Availability and service changes
Access depends on compatible equipment, an internet connection, and services provided by third parties. Maintenance, outages, and technical issues may interrupt access. We do not promise uninterrupted access or permanent retention of study progress.
We may correct, replace, or update educational materials and site features. Features labeled “coming soon” are not included until released unless your purchase expressly states otherwise. If we materially reduce the paid Service during a prepaid period, you may cancel and request a refund for the unused portion of that period. Permanent discontinuation is addressed in Section 7.
12 Privacy and external services
We respect your privacy. We do not sell or rent your personal information or share it with advertisers or other third parties for their own marketing purposes. We use personal information to manage your account and membership, process payments, provide access to the Service, respond to support requests, and protect the Service.
We disclose personal information only as necessary to service providers that support hosting, payment processing, sign-in, customer support, and delivery of the Service, or when disclosure is required by law. These operational disclosures are limited to the information needed for those purposes. For privacy questions or requests concerning your personal information, contact helicoptercheckrideprep@gmail.com. External websites and services you choose to use may have their own terms and privacy practices.
13 Suspension and termination
We may restrict or terminate access for a material violation of these Terms, nonpayment, unlawful conduct, or a reasonably identified security threat. When practical, we will provide notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve a correctable issue. Immediate action may be necessary to protect accounts, content, or the Service.
If we terminate a subscription, future renewals will stop. Refund eligibility is governed by Section 7 and applicable law. Ending access does not authorize continued use or distribution of restricted materials. Provisions that by their nature continue after termination, including intellectual property rights, payment obligations already incurred, liability limitations, and dispute provisions, will survive.
14 Warranty disclaimer
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT, AND DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR FREE, COMPLETE, OR CONTINUOUSLY AVAILABLE.
This disclaimer does not override an express promise made in your purchase offer or exclude a statutory warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
15 Limits on liability
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HCRP AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOST PROFITS, ARISING FROM THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS.
To the extent permitted by law, our combined liability for claims arising from the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of $100 USD or the amount you paid HCRP for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These exclusions and limits do not apply to fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit. They do not reduce refunds expressly promised in these Terms or mandatory consumer remedies. Where an exclusion or limit is prohibited, it does not apply to that extent.
16 Disputes and applicable law
If a problem arises, please contact helicoptercheckrideprep@gmail.com so we can try to resolve it. Contacting us is encouraged but is not a condition to exercising a legal right, filing a claim, or meeting a filing deadline.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Illinois, United States, without applying conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections that apply to you remain in effect. Disputes may be brought in a court with jurisdiction under applicable law. These Terms do not impose mandatory arbitration or waive class-action or small-claims rights.
17 Changes and general terms
We may revise these Terms and will update the effective date. We will give reasonable advance notice by email or a prominent account notice of material changes affecting existing members, and obtain renewed agreement where required by law. Changes will apply prospectively and will not retroactively alter an existing dispute or remove rights already accrued. If you do not accept a material change, you may cancel; we will honor your already-paid access under the prior terms or refund the unused portion if we cannot do so.
These Terms and the specific purchase conditions you accepted govern your use of the Service. A specific checkout promise about price, access, or refunds controls over inconsistent general language here. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision once is not a waiver of future enforcement. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
